Hyundai Genesis Delivers Luxury And Value

Hyundai has certainly made waves in the last few years.  It was only a decade ago that people would chuckle at the mention of the brand.  For mos Americans Hyudai was a cheap car that would not last and would not hold value.  Oh how times have changed.  Hyundai has made huge strides, addressed their issues, and is one car brand that is fast gaining the respect of not only consumers, but auto critics as well.  Simply stated, Hyundai is no laughing matter.

Now Hyundai is entering the luxury sector hard, and bringing value that has simply not been seen.  Starting at just $33,000, the Genesis is the birth of a new category in the automotive world.  Value Luxury.  At an incredible $21, 000 less than a Lexus GS 460, and $24,000 less than A Mercedes Benz E550, the Genesis is really turning heads.

While it may be to soon for a Mercedes Benz driver to make the switch to Hyundai, the Genesis will certainly attract middle income people seeking that elusive combination of luxury and value.  In my opinion the target audience are the drivers of Nissan’s Maxima, Toyota’s Camry,  Honda’s Accord, Ford’s Taurus, and any number of GM cars.  The Genesis brings something to the table that these cars will have difficulty in matching.

Hyundai proudly stacks up their Genesis against the best of Mercedes and Lexus.  The list of features is stunning, and if you think about it, makes the price gap even more substantial!  It is almost as if you could buy two Genesis vehicles for the price of One Mercedes-Benz!

What Hyundai has accomplished is to offer true luxury to the masses.  No longer do middle class buyers need to be strapped with car payments approaching their mortgage payments, or sign themselves into a lease that allows them to drive a luxury car only 10,000 miles per year!

Items like navigation, leather, DVD capability, Bluetooth connectivity, Sirius XM Satellite Radio, power adjustable seats, heated and cooled seats, and rain sensing wipers are just the beginning with Genesis.  Check out a Genesis.

Hyundai Profits Jump In Q1

Hyundai Motor Co reported an incredible 47%  jump in quarterly profit earlier today.  The results sent shares to record highs as investors see the traction being gained by the brand on a consistent basis.  In addition to offering more stylish cars that appeal to consumers, Hyundai is seen as a major benefactor in market share because of production cuts at many other manufacturers stemming from the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami in Japan.  In April it is anticipated that Hyundai and Kia will gain more market share in the U.S. market.

Hyundai reported a 1.88 trillion Korean won ($1.7 billion) in Q1 2011 net profit.  Last year the profit number stood at 1.28 trillion won.  Hyundai credits strong sales of their popular Sonata and  Elantra as key components to their outstanding earnings performance.  The company stated their biggest increase was seen in China with a 30% jump.  The United states gave the company a 28% jump, and other markets saw improvement of 10%.

Hyundai stated in their conference that they anticipate overall U.S. sales to come in at about 13 million units in 2011.

Hyundai Blue Link – A Brilliant Idea

Hyundai continues to make huge strides that will impress the automotive world and set new standards for the competition.  The Korean manufacturer has introduced Blue Link, a technology rich in features that actually simplifies your life and can make driving more fun.  Blue Link is far more than a simple app.  It is a combination of driving essentials that when combined make for a driving experience simply not available just a few short years ago.

Blue Link keeps track of everything for you.  It is like having a personal assistant for your car!  Want to know the traffic or weather?  Blue Link will tell you.   Have you broken down?  Blue Link can get you help right away.  Did you park your car on 89th Street or 88th?  With Blue Link and a smart phone you can find out.  From emergency situations to finding the best gas prices, Blue Link is there.

The central point of Blue Link is not in the dashboard.  Chances are that it resides on your hip.  Your very own smart phone becomes a remote command center and provides the data connection that allows many Blue Link features to operate.  In many cases you can even control Blue Link features while you are not even near your car.  Blue Link allows you to start your car, unlock the doors, flash the lights and even sound the horn remotely.

Hyundai’s Blue Link has over 30 features for drivers broken down into three categories so you can choose and subscribe to only the services you need:

In the event of an accident or incident of any kind, no matter where you are, you’re not alone. Hyundai-trained operators stand by 24/7/365 to immediately summon help for any reason, whether life-threatening or merely inconvenient.

  • SOS Emergency Assistance – In the event of any type of emergency, drivers simply press a single, dedicated button to get a trained response specialist to coordinate emergency 911 assistance, and remain on the line until help arrives. Armed with GPS-enabled location and vehicle condition information, the specialist will not only dispatch the appropriate assistance, but can even notify your friends and family of the situation.
