Toyota Motor Sales has announced yet another voluntary safety recall of about 51,000 2011 Tundra trucks. The purpose of the recall is to inspect the rear drive shaft of the vehicle. Toyota announced the recall Tuesday, April 26, 2011. The company will inspect or replace the rear drive shaft of impacted Tundra’s at no charge to the consumer. The inspection process takes about 10 minutes, and replacement, if needed will need to be scheduled.
The company will notify impacted consumers via a mailed letter, but owners can contact the company or dealer to see if the recall includes their vehicle. If you are a 2011 Toyota Tundra owner I would recommend checking with a dealer and not relying on the mail system to inform you.
The company says no accidents or injuries have been reported due to the issue.
